For free you may record your own voicemail. You may also reserve your number for a small fee. I got a new number, with ease, and now I can use it any time I wish. It only happened to me a few years back when I only got the app to text my mom for a busy month, and right after that I didn't use it. But anyone that uses this app usually uses it frequently and doesn't have the issue. Text free also can text you personally when you have updates or to remind you that if your phone number isn't used within a certain amount of time, it will be given to someone else. You can also, if you double-text, click the little 'x' in the corner of the ad to view the keyboard again. I usually can't stand ads, but this doesn't interfere with the quality of the app. The ads only pop up at the bottom of your screen AFTER you send a message. I can text as (724) ***-**** and nobody knows that I don't actually have a phone!!! This app is perfect and has no flaws, unless you have absolutely no tolerances for ads. I linked all of them under the same account. As for me, I have two iPods and an iPhone that has been shut off the provider.
